Legacy

” The Eyes” Jay DeFeo ( Taken by me at the Whitney)

The influence you leave on a person is eternal.

I’m talking about a significant touch of the soul
of their life
of their spirit.

Once touched no matter what
the little things will always take you back to that moment,
take you back to the first touch.

The soft touch of the summer breeze as it carries with it the smell of blooming roses.
The sound of your once shared favorite song,
the same song that for months you couldn’t imagine ever hearing again without crying
now, all that is left when the song starts is the ghost of a reminiscing smile upon your lips.

While people come and go, the memories will always last. When you least expect it you find yourself smiling alone in your room because you remembered that one time they chased you in the rain, then you find yourself sitting in your parked car smiling,

tasting your salty tears,
tears that fall because of the realization that you are now free.

I believe everyone that we encounter in life was put there for a reason. They come to teach us about ourselves, as well as about life. They go, to show us that all is fleeting, and not all are needed.

Walk down memory lane once time allows moments to settle. You highlighted how life unfolds and created an end result. Truly enjoyed this view you offered. Thank you
