Your heartbeat woke me up this morning,
the thumping caressed my cheek
slowly lullabying me back to sleep.
I didn’t want to wake up,
I never wanted to wake up.
Your fingertips caressed me that afternoon,
then your eyes chased my breath away.
I never wanted to bathe in anything more beautiful
then I did the pool of your eyes.
Your body put me to sleep that night
I fought hard against the impending sleep,
sleep that was caused by your erratic heartbeat.
Your body’s warmth wrapped around my own body,
soul encased in your smell and soft touches
I never wanted to leave your presence,
I never wanted to leave your bed.
