Healthy

Distorted Views

I guess self-love becomes obsolete when we become absolutely obsessed with the dopamine being poured into our system.

Who am I when you’re my everything?

When the air I breath isn’t my lifeline

but instead

your instant gratification.

What is self-respect when the definition is blurred

and misconstrued by

your every whim and selfish need?

The words

that spill from your mouth

self-centered and rude

but I guess

whatever makes you happy

makes me think I’m happy.

Why is it that we lose all self

when we think we’re in love with healthy?

Why do those rose-colored glasses blind us to the point where we become deaf and mute to all the pain they cause?

All in fear of being alone

Not Lonely

But alone with ourselves.

We lose all sense of self when we forget that we should always be the priority.

We lose all self-respect when we forget our boundaries and self-worth.

Our own sanity vanishes when they do

and only returns when we finally see that we are our first love.

‘We lose all sense of self when we forget that we should always be the priority.’
That’s such a powerful line and something to always be aware of in love and out of it
